Pixie's Pawsome Easter Egg Hunt!

Happy Easter, everyone!

Spring has sprung, the flowers are blooming, and even the ghosts in the attic seem a little less grumpy (well, maybe a little).  This year, to celebrate Easter, my human, and I, the world's most adorable Papillon, of course, decided to have our own egg-cellent Easter egg hunt!

Now, I may be a magical dog, but even magic can't resist a good ol' fashioned Easter egg hunt. Mum filled colorful eggs with yummy treats for me (chicken jerky, naturally!), and hid them all over the house – even in some spooky corners of the attic!

Sniffing out those eggs was no easy feat, let me tell you! I had to use my super sniffer and all my doggy determination. But let's just say, there wasn't a single egg left undiscovered!

Speaking of hidden things, have you all had a chance to meet the Andersons in the cozy mystery "Whispers in the Attic?" There are plenty of secrets hidden in their haunted Victorian home, just waiting to be unearthed...

Maybe there's even a magical Easter egg or two hidden within the pages!

Happy Easter from Pixie and the Whispers in the Attic crew!

DIY Audiobook. A bit of equipment, good advice and lots of patience

I want to create an Audiobook - should I?  Ever since the release of book one in the "Cannabis Preacher" series of thrillers, that question has been on my mind.  The "Cannabis Preacher" books were quite long. To produce an audiobook from each of the four, including voice actors and audio production with a turn key service, I was looking at around $15,000 per book. Financially, that was a non-starter for me at the time. That amount represented a LOT of books and audiobooks to sell to recover the investment, and I shelved my plan again.  With the popularity of the "Magical Papillon" cozy mystery series, I found myself coming back to the growing popularity of audiobooks. I knew that audiobooks could reach a wider audience and catered to busy readers who prefer listening while multitasking. The idea of bringing my characters to life through narration excited me, as it offered a new dimension to my storytelling.  The cozy mysteries were only 60-65,000...

The Perfect Stool for Recording Audiobooks

The Perfect Stool for Recording Audiobooks You probably know by now that I've started recording my own books as audiobooks. One of the things I learned fairly early on, is how important it is to maintain good posture while recording. Recently, I stumbled upon a little stool that has completely transformed my recording sessions, and I just have to share! When you’re sitting for long periods, especially while focusing on your voice and pronunciation, sitting up straight and leaning slightly forward is crucial. I used to use a barstool, but it wasn’t quite cutting it anymore, and now and then it would creak! No good for an audiorecording. That all changed last weekend when I walked into my local HomeSense and found this little beauty! One test sit and I was convinced. Why Posture Matters Good posture helps with voice projection and clarity. Slumping or slouching can hinder your performance, and trust me, that’s the last thing you want when you’re trying to deliver the best possible au...

JOYCE AI Launches Today

JOYCE AI Launches Today: When Fiction Mirrors Tomorrow's Reality Today marks a moment I've been anticipating for months – "Joyce AI" is finally available to readers worldwide. As I watch this story take its first steps into the world, and it's been quite a journey that brought us here. The Story Behind the Story I never intended to write a cautionary tale about artificial intelligence. What began as a exploration of friendship and ambition in the tech world evolved into something far more urgent. Every headline about data breaches, every notification asking for access to our personal information, every conversation about AI's growing influence in our lives – they all found their way into the story of Ethan and Brad, two childhood friends whose dream of making the world better through technology becomes a nightmare. Why This Story Matters Now We're living in an age where our devices know our shopping habits, sleep patterns, and daily routines b...
